Shamik Mishra

Shamik Mishra is currently an Assistant Vice President for Research & Innovation at Altran. 

He is a practice leader for the future of networks and compute at Altran Group. 

Shamik Mishra has extensive experience and contributions in software development in cloud, wireless technologies, edge computing and platform software. He has over eighteen years of experience in the Telecom and software industry, providing engineering R&D services, frameworks and solutions to telecom operators, network equipment providers and software firms around the world. As a global lead for R&I in Altran, Shamik drives solutions and framework development in virtualization, cloud native, edge computing and carrier cloud platforms at a global scale. Shamik has led development of few multiorganization open source projects. He represents Aricent in several industry forums including Linux Foundation Edge where is a member of the technical advisory council. He is a regular speaker at industry and academic conferences like OpenStack Summit, Edge Compute Congress to name a few. He is a recognized thought leader and it is often covered by the industry media. 

His research interests are in the areas of 5G, Network Function Virtualization, Autonomous Networks, Intelligent Decentralized Applications, Cloud and Edge Computing and Machine Learning. Shamik has a bachelor's and a master's degree from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India.
